Educational Programs
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and secondary Education funds Concilio's Adult Basic Education program which serves over 200 students a year. The program is staffed by quality Adult Education instructors, program administrators and a program counselor who orients students to the program and helps them set and achieve personal goals. A significant number of volunteers also support the program and its students by serving as tutors, class aids and program assistants.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Concilio is an experienced and respected provider of adult education services. Concilio Hispano provides beginner-level English classes to Latinos whose native language is not English. Four levels of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes are offered in Cambridge and Chelsea
Once students have completed Beginner Intermediate Level II, we help them transfer to higher-level classes at other schools, such as Bunker Hill Community College or the Cambridge Community Learning Center, or scale without being placed on a waiting list.
